Sri Vaikunda Ekadasi

Vaikunda Ekadasi is an important festival dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the Tamil month of Margazhi (December-January). It is believed that whoever worships Lord Vishnu on this day will reach ‘Vaikunda’ (heaven). The ‘Vaikunda Dwaram’ or ‘the gate to the heaven’ is believed to be opened on this day. Scores of devotees queue up to pass through the Gate of Vaikunda in Hindu temples. Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple will celebrate the annual Vaikunda Ekadasi Festival from 18.12.2018 to 19.12.2018. The all important ceremonial opening of the Swargavasal (Gate to Heaven) will take place on Tuesday, 18 December 2018 at 6.30 am.
