Vijayadasami

Vijayadasami is the day of success and is celebrated immediately after Navarathiri, on the tenth day. In Vaishnava Temples, it is observed as the day where Sri Mahavishnu vanquished the demon Vanniyasuran, symbolised by the destruction of banana trees at the temple entrance. Sri Mahavishnu comes out of the temple and shoots arrows in all eight directions, the last arrow strikes the banana tree which is then chopped down.  Since it is the day where the demon was destroyed, it is an apt day for beginning new endeavours such as beginning one’s education (Vidyarambam). Weapons and machinery are also offered prayers on this day and apprentice are given beginning lessons. Vijayadasami is celebrated in a splendid manner at our temple.

The Temple welcomes donors and benefactors who wish to be a part of this community initiative.
