புரட்டாசி அமாவாசைக்கு பின் ஒன்பது இரவுகள் அம்மனுக்கு வழிபாடுகள் செய்யும் திருநாள் நவராத்திரி ஆகும். இந்த நவராத்திரி சாரதா நவராத்திரி, சரத் நவராத்திரி என்றும் கூறப்படுகிறது. சர்வம் சத்தி மயம் என்ற கருத்தின் அடிப்படையில் கொலு என்னும் பல்வேறு வடிவை உடைய பொம்மைகளை அடுக்கி வழிபடுவது வழக்கம். சக்தி கொலுவீற்றருளும் வழிபாடு முக்கியமாக செய்யப்படுகிறது.

The 9 nights following Amavasai (new moon night) are dedicated for the worship of the Mother Goddess and are celebrated as Navarathiri Festival. This Navaratri is also called as Sharada Navarathiri or Sharad Navarathiri.  At home, devotees set up the Golu – steps on which idols and statues are placed - showcasing the omnipresence of Shakthi. The various manifestations of Shakthi are worshipped over the nine nights.
