Deepavali literally means row of lights and is a festival that is celebrated with tremendous joy by Hindus all over the world. Sweetmeats are prepared, new clothes are worn, sparklers are lit, the blessings of elders are sought, children are given gifts and devotees perform prayers both at home and at the temple, on this festive and joyous day.
