பல்வேறு நவராத்திரிகளில் யுகாதி பண்டிகையில் துவங்கி ராமநவமியில் முடியும் நவராத்திரி(சாந்திர மணப்படி)வசந்த ருதுவில் வருவதால் வசந்த நவராத்திரி என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. இதில் அம்மனுக்கு பூஜை, ஹோமம், அபிஷேகம் முதலிய சிறப்பு வழிபாடுகள் செய்யப்படுகின்றன.

Of the various Navaratris, this is the  Navaratri that begins on Yugathi and ends on Ramanavami, according to the Chandramana lunar calendar. Since this Navaratri coincides with Vasantha Ritu (Spring Season), it is popularly known as Vasantha Navaratri. Special prayers, homam and abishegam (ablution) are held for the Mother Goddess.
